What Happens After You Submit
Submission Guidelines
Inkazi Africa Limited serves as a comprehensive platform for diverse African narratives across multiple genres and formats:
Format Requirement
- Minimum 20,000 words for novellas; 50,000+ for Novels
- Collection of poems: minimum 40- 80 poems
- File format: DOC, DOCX, or PDF
- Font: Times New Roman, 12pt
- Spacing: Double-spaced
- Margins: 1 inch on all sides
- Include page numbers
- Complete manuscript preferred
- Simultaneous submissions accepted- please notify us if accepted elsewhere

Common Questions
Yes.
We actively publish in Kiswahili, Gikuyu, Dholuo, and other East African languages. If submitting in a language other than English or Kiswahili, please include a short English summary.
All shortlisted works receive written editorial feedback regardless of outcome. Works not shortlisted receive a brief note. We aim to respond to all submissions within 8 weeks.
Yes.
But each submission must be sent separately via the relevant track form. Do not combine a manuscript and poetry collection in one submission.
Our focus is African voices, authors based on the continent or in the diaspora writing stories rooted in African experience. Diaspora submissions are warmly welcomed.
